SEDATION & COMFORT OPTIONS

Creating a calm, safe, and supportive experience—no matter your comfort level.

We understand that dental visits can be overwhelming for some patients. Whether you experience anxiety, have a strong gag reflex, or require complex treatment, sedation dentistry can help you feel more relaxed and confident during your care.

At Southland Dental, we offer multiple safe and effective sedation options, tailored to your medical history and personal preferences. Our team will help you understand which option is best suited to your procedure and comfort level.

ORAL SEDATION

Taken as a prescribed pill before your appointment, oral sedation helps ease anxiety while allowing you to remain conscious. You’ll feel calm and drowsy but still able to respond. This option is ideal for patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety.

NITROUS OXIDE

Inhaled through a nose mask during your procedure, nitrous oxide helps you feel light and relaxed—often with a sense that time is passing quickly. Its effects wear off within minutes after the mask is removed, making it safe and suitable for both adults and children.

IV SEDATION

OFFERED WHEN INDICATED*

Intravenous (IV) sedation allows medication to be delivered directly into your bloodstream, offering deeper relaxation with real-time adjustment. You’ll remain conscious but typically remember little of the procedure. This option is commonly used for longer or more invasive treatments.
